Net-Temps, the leading online job board for the Staffing industry,
announced today it has teamed with eSkill to offer Net-Temps members the
ability to create multi-subject skills assessment tests to measure the
technical proficiency of candidates applying to their job postings.
Recruiters can then prioritize applicants based on the test results. eSkill
provides content and services for testing technical skills.
ExpressTest allows recruiters to create multi-subject tests quickly and
does not require expert-level knowledge of the technical subject matter.
The process is integrated into the existing job posting procedure. To
create tests, users simply select the skill level required in one or more
subject areas and ExpressTest automatically generates the appropriate
questions. Tests are created on the fly and attached to the job posting.
"Recruiters are looking for any edge they can get over the competition in
order to fill a very limited number of job openings. Skills testing
streamlines the hiring process by allowing our customers to sift through
and prioritize thousands of candidates instantly based on hard test scores,
not just gut-feelings. The top candidates are easily identified and
recruiters can make placements with a greater degree of accuracy and
confidence," stated PJ Beaulac, Net-Temps' Vice President of Marketing.
"With ExpressTest, they are able to provide a real value added service to
"Three years ago job requests for java developers forced recruiters to
scour the country in order to find a qualified job applicant. In this job
market HR personnel are deluged with resumes for a single position, often
from many who are not qualified," said Michael George, Vice President of
Sales and Business Development at eSkill. "ExpressTest ensures recruiters
and HR executives that the most qualified candidates are not lost in the
flood of resumes."
The skills testing service option is available to Net-Temps members on an
individual user basis for a very small fee or large organizations may
license the software on an enterprise basis.
eSkill was founded in 2000 as a developer of software and content for
testing job-based skills. In 2001, eSkill formed a funding and development
partnership with the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. This
relationship has become the academic foundation of eSkill’s test content
validation. In 2002, eSkill launched its enterprise testing software,
eSkill Enterprise, serving the Human Resource and Learning communities in
large organizations. The eSkill Enterprise software can be integrated into
a company’s preferred web-based recruiting and eLearning systems for
automated candidate testing and employee training.
