This position is the Integration technical lead for an FMS Flight Management System program. The successful candidate will have extensive direct systems integration experience with Military Systems, Integration of large COTS Systems, Command and Control Systems, and Tactical Data Links - in particular Link 16 and Link 11. The successful candidate must have strong leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience as a team lead.
Specific responsibilities include Performing as the technical lead for complex integration efforts across multiple contracts. Tasks include establishing and maintaining a system integration process, preparation of budget estimates, task scheduling, logistical planning, workforce planning, resource planning and prioritization between three labs. The system is designed around two networks; a Radio Frequency (RF) network coupled to a Terrestrial Wide Area Network (TWAN) providing a common tactical picture to numerous users. Multiple elements provided by various subcontractors as well as Government Furnished Equipment must be integrated in a lab and installed on multiple assets in-country.
The Integration technical lead will act as the deputy to the Integration Manager. The technical lead will work closely with the Test Manager to ensure coordination of shared resources. Systems Integration and Test will occur both in the US and in foreign countries and the selected candidate must be willing to travel to support meetings and lead integration and test efforts.
The Technical Lead is responsible to ensure that Integration tasks exercise all interfaces, user commands, data paths, system resources for thorough system integration. The Technical Lead shall perform coordination between the engineering and program management on an FMS project. The Technical Lead is required to perform all technical oversight to the integration team and provide mentoring to the junior engineers. The Technical Lead is responsible to ensure that Integration tasks are planned and performed per contract and on schedule. The Technical Lead is responsible for identifying root causes for technical problems and working with participating parties to plan fixes. The Technical Lead is responsible to put together quick response teams, planning the resources and activities, including schedule and budget planning.
