Job Description: Engineering Technician Project Description: Tier3 Network Operations Support. Supporting all Telecommunication Managed Services customers, across the MRS/EVPN/Outsourcing product lines. Employee will be responsible to work a Tier3 Ticket Queue, so enhanced knowledge of Tier3 level network operations support is required. Job Description: This position is for a Third Level Network Analyst who will work in a 7x24 network operations center providing advanced technical support of WAN, LAN and VOIP (Voice over IP) networks for Domestic and international clients. Hours must be flexible and may be rotational as determined by the needs of the business. This position requires that the analyst be able to dynamically multitask on diverse issues and work with customers in a fast pace SLA driven environment with a minimum amount of direct supervision. The candidate should also show excellent written and verbal skills to accurately and expediently communicate their findings and recommendations to customers and vendors alike. Candidate should also demonstrate a level of customer advocacy to correct problems on our clients behalf.The successful candidate MUST have demonstrable advanced Data-Networking knowledge and experience to include Cisco and/or Nortel Routers, TCP/IP, and Circuit troubleshooting. This is an absolute requirement for this position. Required skills: - Advanced WAN troubleshooting/problem determination. (Frame Relay, ISDN, ATM, and Private Line) -LAN troubleshooting/problem determination. (Ethernet, VTP, Token Ring, HSRP) -Advanced knowledge of Cisco and/or Nortel Router troubleshooting/problem determination and maintenance. -Advanced knowledge of Cisco Quality of Service configuration. -Excellent understanding of routing and routing protocols. (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) -Advanced understanding of TCP/IP. -Unix user skills. Desired Skills:-MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) experience.-VPN (Virtual Private Network) experience including IPSEC.-VOIP (Voice over IP) Minimum 2 years experience in network support/management. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
