The RAD Developer Role
The candidate is required to have strong MS-SQL 2000/2005 experience incl. Integration Services coupled with excellent .Net development skills (C# and ASP.Net). Clearly, knowledge and experience in Reporting Services and Analytical Services is advantageous. Additionally, experience in VBA, MQ, and Autosys, Subversion will be beneficial. For specific valuations projects, strong multi threaded experience with computational algorithms is required. Grid computing using DataSynapse as well as a mathematical background will be extremely advantageous or even a pre-requisite.
The RAD developer is required to be self sufficient, work independently on projects, work closely with the BUC, Analyse and spec the requirements for the projects (where a Business Analyst is not available), provide a technical spec, develop, and carry the project through UAT, Regression and successful release. At the same time, the candidate will need to work closely with other members of the RAD BUC team, conform to development standards in the team, seek advice and equally contribute to other projects and re-use components that have already been developed.
As mentioned above, the candidate should also have sound experience at all stages of the development lifecycle from analysis and design through to testing and release. Developers typically take responsibility for a development task or project and see it through to completion. This requires a broader range of skills than just pure development and makes for a more interesting and challenging role.
However, this candidate will have to be a very strong candidate with Multi Threaded and computational algorithms experience.
Additionally, grid computing using DataSynapse would be extremely advantageous.
This is to a certain extent Quant developer role - so a strong mathematical background would also be a plus.
