Manager is looking for a Server admin but he/she must have Server Side SAN experience, basic experience and understanding of SAN technology as a whole. This person will not be administering storage or network switches at all but will be working on systems that are or will be san connected.
The Internal Distributed Systems group is primarily responsible for the design, development, support and administration of the Microsoft Server Infrastructure. Performs a supporting role in Windows Systems Administration, Management and Infrastructure maintenance for DTCCs Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
Engineer and administrator on multi layer complex server environments. Responsible for building, testing, and integrating Windows based servers in a production environment. This person must have working experience with SAN connected systems and provide support for such systems as needed. This person will be assisting in all SAN projects as it relates to the Windows infrastructure. This person will be part of a small team responsible for multiple projects and is required to work off hours as needed.
Responsibilities include the following:
Server builds & Configurations
OS Upgrades
Hardware support (IBM, HP and Dell)
Enforce and implement server standards and deployment policies
Coordination of server moves and data center facilities
Backup scheduling and monitoring
Domain services (user, password, controller, name resolution) administration
Various administrative and asset management tasks
Experience:
2 - 4 Years experience administering large/distributed Windows Server environments.
2 - 4 Years experience implementing, deploying and supporting Windows server-based systems
2 - 4 Years experience server side SAN experience and troubleshooting
1 - 3 Years experience managing multi-domain Active Directory
Skills:
Knowledge of Windows Infrastructure Architecture
Knowledge of installation and configuration of Windows based operating systems
Knowledge of Storage Area Networks
Knowledge of Windows security methods and models
Knowledge of Dell, IBM and other Midrange Server architectures
Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including: DNS, TCP/IP, Routing protocols,
Administration of Active Directory
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Self-starter and independent worker
Working knowledge of the ITIL framework
MCSE preferred
