Job Description:
My client has (2-3) 6+-month contract openings for Field Test Engineers. The selected individuals for these positions will test, develop and evaluate prototype crop harvesting equipment (combines, headers, and cotton
harvesters) in actual or simulated field conditions; make recommendations to enhance functional performance and reliability/durability; and work with the product development team to resolve product issues. Required Experience:
?Bachelor?s degree in engineering or applied engineering (technical degrees) with experience from entry level to 5 years.
?Operational competence with crop harvesting equipment (combines, headers or cotton harvesters).
?Require a technical and functional understanding of subsystems that contribute to the operational performance of crop harvesting self-propelled vehicles, including engine, mechanical drives, fluid power and electrical/electronic/software systems.?Good computer skills?i.e?MS Office products & databases.?Good oral and written communication skills.
?Demonstrated ability to work with cross discipline teams as well as being a strong individual contributor.
?Capable of traveling to worldwide test locations for extended periods of time (40 to 60% of the time in 4 week intervals) with minimal supervision. ?Qualified to drive service support vehicles with trailers up to 26,000 lbs GCVW.
Required Duties: ?Maintain company provided equipment to support testing for efficient operation such as service vehicle, trailers, test equipment and tools. ?Work directly with other members (internal customers) of the Platform Team including design, marketing and manufacturing, as well as other test organizations within the client
?Work with external customers (dealers and farmers) and commercial representatives to assure adequate test coverage, security/confidentiality and a favorable Company image to contacts. ?Audit production and pre-production equipment produced at CNH manufacturing facilities. Inspect, repair, rework and update test machines / components as required to maintain operation and keep current with design changes. ?Assist with the acquisition and interpretation of field and lab mission data, including measurements of noise, vibration, speed, mechanical torque, hydraulic pressure, hydraulic flow and electrical / electronic sensors.
