Job Description: Long Term w2 contract.... $35hr
Responsible for the entire vehicle electrical system for all of International's products. The systems engineer will be responsible for gathering, generating and coordinating the system level requirements for a vehicle electrical system and documenting those requirements in a defined structure. Vehicle electrical systems interact with virtually every other system on the truck. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of or experience in one or more of the following systems; brake systems, diesel engine systems, transmission systems, HVAC systems, sensors, controls, instrumentation, power distribution systems, J1939/CAN protocol, J1708 protocol and embedded microcontroller electronics. In addition to this, knowledge of the regulations affecting motor vehicles including DOT, FMVSS, CMVSS and SAE is desirable. Requirements: 1)Engineering Degree 2)Greater than 8 years of experience as a Systems Engineer 3)Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills 4)Experience in working with both internal and external customers 5)Thoroughly understands the systems engineering approach 6)Proven ability to set and meet goals with engineering peers, engineering leaders and program managers. 7)Ability to translate and document customer requirements into new system level designs and/or existing system improvements. 8)Leadership ability 9)Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills 10)Able to travel overnight approximately 10% of the time Desired Skills: 1)Knowledge of quality tools and their proper use including DFM/DFA, FMEA, 8D, P-Diagrams and Design Reviews. 2)Identifies required system and component level tests for developing project DVP. 3)Experience in hierarchical design or requirements management. 4)Understanding of standard diagrammatic representations including flow charts, state diagrams, logic diagrams, UML etc. 5)Motor vehicle design experience 6)Experience in performing design trade-off analysis for electrical systems and subsystems 7)Understanding of automotive powertrain system functionality, interactions, and acceptable failure mode responses. 8)Self-starter that is proactive in communication and action. 9)Positive, personally driven and productive attitude.
