Job Description: The Java Systems Architect will provide expertise and leadership in architectural design and framework development using J2EE technology. Will provide design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Will participate in strategic planning efforts and will provide/develop proposed solutions to needs identified.
-Must have a full understanding of the J2EE Technology from analyzing the business, choosing the most optimal framework/environment/tools (design), and development in an Oracle 10/11 environment. -Will design and develop new J2EE applications and analyze existing applications and design a J2EE application based on new and existing business requirements. -Will assist in making informed decisions and developing evaluation, testing and deployment strategies for the new products/technologies. -Will need to be familiar with Oracle 10g Forms and PL/SQL to be able to analyze the existing in-house applications. -Will be the lead technical support to other developers designing and developing software using Java, J2EE (middle tier and backend development). -Must have a thorough understanding of, and ability to apply, software development methodologies, information technology standards, deployment procedures and best practices throughout the enterprise. -Must be able to work independently and with non-technical members of the community.

Requirements: Required: -Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical degree with appropriate certifications in Oracle required. Additional education can substitute for some experience. -Thorough knowledge of J2EE application development interfacing with an Oracle Database -Strong communication, organization and writing skills -Experience using PL/SQL and writing procedures, functions, and triggers -Knowledge and experience in Oracle Forms, Oracle Designer, Oracle Reports -Experience in writing functional specifications. -Experience with establishing and documenting processes such as Architecture Diagrams, Design documents, software specification documents, etc. -The candidate must have the ability to work on a team, set priorities, work under pressure, adapt to demanding situations, and maintain schedules. -A minimum of 6 years experience as a software developer -2+ years experience in a lead technical position guiding development staff, and strong planning and organizational skills -5+ recent years experience in J2EE development on a WebLogic or Oracle Application Server -1+ recent year(s) in architectural design of J2EE applications -2+ years experience with Oracle 10g/9i database and development tools -Prior experience interfacing Oracle and Java in a Unix/Linux environment.
Preferred: -Knowledge of SQL Server and MySQL Unix shell Programming.
