Job Description: The Database Application Developer will analyze, design, build and test database objects for internally developed Oracle applications, and to support developers creating applications in development and test environments. This individual is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing policies and procedures regarding database objects for the Oracle applications. This position is also responsible for data migration and large-scale data modifications to fit new functionality and business needs. The Application Database Developer must have the ability to analyze and solve business problems, and assess business needs to recommend appropriate information technology solutions.
-Supports internal applications and enhances current processes by creating or modifying PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, indexes, views, and database organization -Identifies, diagnoses, and works with the DBAs to resolve database application bottlenecks on production level systems -Creates, modifies and tunes Oracle database stored procedures, triggers, functions, indexes, views, and schemas -Supports development and test environments throughout the development lifecycle for new functionality and changes in existing functionality for in-house Oracle Forms, Java, and Reports applications. -Designs and writes data migration programs when new functionality is introduced and data maintenance programs when large-scale data changes are required. -Monitors data quality and data integrity and corrects errors as they arise.

Requirements: Required:
-BS in computer science, information systems, or other technical degree; the ability to demonstrate skills may be considered if candidate does not possess a BS in a related field -3+ recent years experience maintaining objects in Oracle Database 9i, 10g or 11g -3+ recent years experience using SQL in Oracle Database 9i, 10g or 11g -3+ recent years experience using PL/SQL to write packages, procedures, functions, and triggers; must have excellent command of the PL/SQL language -Working knowledge of data modeling and database development including, but not limited to tables, indexes, constraints, triggers, materialized views, external tables, roles, and stored PL/SQL -Thorough knowledge of Oracle relational database structure; strong analytical, problem solving, and programming skills -Experience with any of the tools: SQL Developer, Toad, SQL Expert or other performance tuning tools -Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products as required -Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience -Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques -Strong technical documentation skills
