Job Description:
Will provide database administration services in both production and development environments on multiple mission critical MS SQL Server databases.
*Design, implement and document disaster recovery strategies
*Perform database monitoring, optimization and capacity planning
*Manage database growth and database indexing
*Troubleshoot production issues, provide expedited resolution and 24 x 7 support for mission critical systems
Salary to $115k
*Work with software developers to assist in optimization tasks and Transact-SQL development
*Assist with and develop ETL processes and data warehouse development
*Work with key vendors to identify problems and propose solutions
*Perform database code and documentation management
*Review and provide recommendations to change control and source code management practices
*Evaluate available and new technologies and recommend appropriate solutions to support company products and services
*Interface with customers, users and domain experts. Strive for establishing a high-level of trust & credibility. Recognize that our products must bring value to our customers.
*Works closely with applicable vendors and customers to ensure that product lines fit easily into industry practice and technologies.
Experience Level:
5+ Years
Requirements:
*US Citizenship, US Permanent Residency or EAD required
*BS in computer science or 6+ years of SQL Server database administration experience
*10+ years experience working in production and development environments
*Extensive knowledge and 6+ years of experience in the following areas: Disaster recovery, database maintenance, database optimization, database design
*6+ years of experience supporting and working with SQL 2000 and 2005
*Experience with SQL Server Integration services and DTS
*In depth understanding of SQL Server architecture, tools and security
*Experience supporting systems that have high transaction rates, large volumes of data and Decision Support systems
*Good interpersonal and communication skills
*Able to stay focused and deliver results.
Preferences:
*Knowledge of or experience in a healthcare related field
*Additional experience supporting Oracle databases
*Oracle RAC experience
