Job Description: Daily test and sampling of products in process and finished items to evaluate product quality and safety.
Daily processing and packaging process reviews.
Pre-operational and Operational sanitation plant inspection.
Perform quality audits.
Daily review/reconciliation of all QA/QC reports, including HACCP and Net Wt. reporting compliance.
Check equipment calibration: water-meters, thermometers, etc.
Interface with the USDA inspectors: Report immediately any discrepancies. Recommend corrective actions. Recommend preventive measures.
Assist in plant testing.
Employee training.
Enforce procedures and controls to assure that all products are prepared according to the company and USDA standards.
Ability to handle multiple tasks;
Ability to work in a team environment; excellent communication skills.
College degree, preferred in Food Technology, Science, Engineering or related field. Two years of food industry experience.
Knowledge of food process operations, quality assurance activities and USDA regulations.
Preferred Bilingual English/Spanish.
Perform duties with minimum supervision.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, policies and procedures manuals.
Strong computer skills: word, excel, access, powerpoint.
Ability to enforce processes and controls conformance. Ability to evaluate and report product and process quality.
Ability to recommend and implement product, process and sanitation improvements.
Ability to develop and implement process controls for product safety and quality.
