Position Purpose Works with Clinical Head of IDU to be Clinical point of contact to the IDU(Indications Discovery Unit) Research Project Leader IDU CSO & MT and CRLT(Clinical Research Leadership Team for assigned project(s). Aids with the authorship of the clinical development strategy, including clinical protocols and program execution for a research project(s) from pre-candidate stage through POC; leads translation of pre-clinical observations into clinical experiments and results. Ensures alignment of clinical development strategy with Receiving Business Unit needs. Identifies / validates new / existing disease markers and novel pharmacodynamic measurements and helps translate preclinical knowledge to human decision criteria for clinical plans to POC.
Primary Duties: Motivates and engages colleagues in a clinical understanding of disease, and excitement to an indication and mechanism. Drives clinical scientific and study operational technical excellence in the team Contributes to development strategy, creation and updating of the clinical development plan and biomarker strategy from pre-candidate stage through POC Ensures the most efficient clinical programme or protocols are developed Has a keen eye for limiting / reducing cost Jointly accountable with Clinical Protocol Manger for Study conduct, enrollment & monitoring Works with statistics and other clinical staff (e.g., clinical pharmacology, SRM) in the review and interpretation of data; accountable for overall quality and timeliness of analysis and reporting Manages and initiates external collaborations to develop new or alternative clinical plans and methodologies to ensure clinical concept appropriately conducted
Training & Education Preferred: MD, (or equivalent training/experience) with a minimum of 2/5 years of clinical development experience preferably in the exploratory development arena. Demonstrated technical, business, innovative capabilities are required, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills in relating to colleagues and associates both inside and outside the IDU.
