Job Description: The Director of Production Planning is responsible for supply planning and the development of products/solutions for global OEM's. This position is mission critical to meeting the objective of advancing the pipeline and ensuring that product is always available to my client's customers and distributors.
This mission will be accomplished by leading a team of Professional Buyer/Planners. The Director of Production Planning reports to a Vice President of Operations and partners daily with Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service and Logistic leadership. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for leading the organization on the following key activities:
- Production Scheduling: on-time delivery, maximum utilization of facilities and resources, and establishment of demand fences for optimal inventory control, scenario planning to minimize the impact of forecast variability.
- Inventory Planning and Control: tracking and control of inventory amounts, release status, and associated financial at all stages of the supply chain, reducing opportunities for inventory write-offs, while eliminating stock-out risks.
- Capacity and Financial Planning: aligns production capacity with short-term, long-term and strategic needs, Commercial Operations, Technical Development, and Manufacturing.
In this position, you will need the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, science, or engineering. An advanced degree in science or engineering is highly desirable. MBA and/or APICS certification is preferred.
- 7-10 years of Material Planning experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work with a multiplicity of cross-functional groups to meet corporate objectives.
- Strong financial skills with an ability to anticipate P&L impact. - Ability to frame business issues, analyze options, and concisely articulate a course of action to scientific and financial audiences. - Strong analytical and scenario modeling skills. - Proven leadership, management, people and team development skills. - Agility to deftly move between strategic and tactical operational issues. - Significant experience - a history of accomplishment and advancement - in Supply Chain, Operations, or Program Management.
