Software QA Automation Developer
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Work with QA Engineers, Business Analysts and Development teams to develop automated testing scripts for in house developed applications. The ideal candidate would have a solid development background with financial industry and some QA experience. This position is a stepping stone to becoming a member of one of our established development teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsibilities include design, implement and maintain a solid automation framework where test scripts are reusable and easily maintained. Design, implement and maintain test strategies, test plans and test scripts for functional, regression, performance, stress and load of company's software applications using both in-house or vendor software. Develop detailed documentation to support the automation effort. Direct and assist other automation developers in their work. Train/mentor other QA team members in the use if all developed automation.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:
Required Experience:
2 years development experience in structured, object-oriented languages
2 years full life-cycle development experience utilizing Java, .NET, XML, and C#
Experience with Web Services, Service-Oriented Architecture and SoapUi
Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, databases, Oracle and Sybase preferred
Able to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision
Good communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to provide quality work under time pressure
Enjoys working in a fast-paced, agile environment
Desired Experience:
Business analysis skills with knowledge of front and back office processes are a plus.
Experience in trading environment, commodities preferred.
Experience in Excel Macro and VB scripting
Knowledge of automation tools such as Automated QA TestComplete or Quick Test Pro
DEGREES / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE / EXPERIENCE:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience (MS preferred)
