Job Description:
Director, Physician Systems
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for all of the IS Physician and System Services activities at the enterprise, regions and affiliates. Systems portfolio includes the Ambulatory EMR, Physician Practice Management systems, Integration and Interface systems, and remote access for physicians and their staff. The incumbent will support the mission, vision and strategic initiatives of Health System and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, and co-workers.

Requirements:
Essential Functions & Responsibilities (include percentage of time spent on each):
1. Supports the development and operations of physician network and its information/systems needs. These include a keen focus on development and implementation of the information services strategic plan specific to our physician populations, with an understanding of all regulatory, compliance, and legal rulings that guide new rulings in interoperability, data exchange and services may want to provide to its physician base.
2. Works closely with the leadership of company, especially the Chief Medical Officer and his staff. This position will be a member of the Physician Advisory Board to ensure a consistent application of physician system solutions and that the community physician needs are addressed and met in the product solutions being developed.
3. Works with all operational aspects of IS across company to ensure that the service and data needs of the physicians are supplied in a standard and consistent fashion with an emphasis on specialization around easy access and service levels for clinical responsiveness.
4. Establishes a strategy, in conjunction with the overall IS strategic plan, for consistent and reliable systems to support the physician community in four major areas to include: physician practice management systems for company physician practices, integration and interface with physician offices, remote access by physicians and their staff, and an ambulatory EMR to support the needs of the organization.
5. This position will be responsible for defining support requirements and solution offerings for the physician community.
6. Responsible for creating and maintaining annual budgets to support investment strategy and operations.
7. Ensures complete customer satisfaction with users and develops and maintains metrics to measure customer satisfaction.
8. Manages major systems projects that include but are not limited to: upgrades, conversions, integration, implementations, and enterprise decommissions.
9. Other responsibilities will include assessing the ability of the current systems to meet clinical, business, and administrative application needs and communicating the vision necessary to enhance the current system and gain physician participation and collaboration to a common plan.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Healthcare Administration and a Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration.
2. 3-5 years management experience with supervisory experience in the healthcare industry
3. Proven experience working with physicians and physician based IS implementations-clinical and back-office
4. 4 years project management experience within the healthcare industry.
5. Experience in leading multidisciplinary team implementing various hospital information technology solutions.
6. Experience developing and overseeing IS capital and operating budgets.
7. Demonstrated team leadership, team building, and effective communication.
8. Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and leadership abilities.
9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
10. Ability to organize and offer presentations in either written or verbal formats
