Job Description:

Responsible for managing the overall project and its deliverables. This person acts as the single point of contact for the project; and controls planning and execution of the project?s activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time, and quality goals are met. This person manages the project resources and works with the project staff so they understand the goals and objectives. This person acts as the liaison to the extended technical staff shaping what the solution will look like.

Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the successful execution and delivery of the project
* Oversee the completion of the project ensuring project disciplines are followed, the appropriate resources participate, review or approve deliverables, appropriate sign-off is received and the project expectations are met.
* Ensure quality of the solution and project deliverables
* Work closely with the Business Owner and IT Owner; with specific focus on managing expectations
* Clearly define and ensure appropriate prioritization of scope with the Business Owner and IT Owner and ensure project deliverables align with the defined scope
* Develop and refine project estimates through Solution Design and manage the Project Management Triangle (time, cost, scope) through Implementation.
* Create project plan and track project progress; adjust plan as needed and takes appropriate corrective action to address plan variances
* Assemble the project team and align each team member with roles and responsibilities and ensure all team members are clear on their responsibilities
* Identify project risks and develop appropriate responses (mitigation actions); translate response actions to the project plan and monitor risk status
* Ensure Change Control processes are defined and followed throughout the project life cycle by establishing deliverable baselines and tracking, prioritizing, assessing the impact and obtaining sign off; update project deliverables, schedule and budget based on approved changes
* Identify, document, assign, and track project issues through resolution
* Ensure all project communication needs are identified in the Communication Plan and proactively addressed including communication among project team, communication to stakeholders and communication to the supporting organizations
* Coordinate all project activities, provide day to day direction to the team and manage project dependencies, balancing the differing needs of the project
* Provide leadership and mentoring to project team members, provide feedback to functional managers on staff, as appropriate
* Conducts Project Reviews (formal or informal) of project results at phase-end milestones.
* Assures that Deliverable Reviews are conducted on a regularly scheduled basis

This IT project manager is to manage an Information Delivery project. Project deliverables include a Data Dictionary consisting of data mapping from a new business system to an ACORD new business submission transaction and to an Information Factory (IF) for downstream and reporting capability. Project deliverables also include developing the XML feeds to source the IF, developing SOA calls to obtain and deliver data, and developing downstream feeds and reports. The Project team will consist of approximately 7 resources. Candidate should have IT software lifecycle experience, and preferably in the data arena. This project is part of a larger Program therefore the candidate should have experiences working on a team of Project Managers with common deliverable dates, and reporting into a Program Manager.

Experience Level:
5+ Years

Requirements:
Insurance new business knowledge is desired. PMP certification is a plus.
