Job Details The successful candidate should have:
- proven track of delivering both OLTP and business intelligence solutions. - Experience in a large, complex data environment - In depth understanding of data management best practices and ability to be a leader in their implementation. - Ability to comprehend complex technical issues and formulate solutions. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to document requirements, develop data models, standards and concepts to both a technical and business audience. - Ability to act as a thought leader. - Experience in development of data architecture. - Ability to work across the extended team and collaborate with our business partners. - The drive, professionalism and initiative to be a member of a highly successful team.
Qualified Candidates Must Posses the Following:
- BS/BA Degree - 5+ years hands-on experience in the design and development of relational and dimensional data models. - Understanding of both Inmon and Kimball data architectures and when to apply both to large volume Enterprise Data Warehouses and Data Marts. - 2+ years experience with Teradata - 2+ years experience with Oracle/SQL Server/DB2 - 5+ years experience with SQL - 1+ years experience with Erwin
Ideal Candidates would also possess the following:
- insurance knowledge/experience - experience with an ETL tool such as Ab Initio and/or experience with custom developed ETL scripts - experience with a BI tool such as Cognos - knowledge of UML, SOA
Responsibilities of the position:
- The design and development of logical and physical data models to meet the requirements of both OLTP and Business Intelligence projects. - Collaboration on the development of the Small Commercial data architecture - The conduct of peer reviews for data models, ETL specifications, other data design deliverables and code for all projects. - Creation and maintenance of source to target data mappings, ETL specifications and complex transformation rules. - Working in extended teams with developers, DBAs, ETL developers,BI developers and business partners on the delivery of high quality and robust applications. - Collaboration with other members of the data management group to drive process improvement initiatives for the data management group.
