Summary / Scope of Responsibilities:
> Responsible to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly productions schedules for both new sales and/or service support. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors and leads to determine progress of work and completion dates; inventory levels, and solving production problems. The position requires high visibility, frequent internal customer interaction and the ability to exercise independent judgment to negotiate and meet customer?s requirements, with available company resources. The position has direct responsibility for the establishment and maintenance of an Inventory/production plan, directly influencing manufacturing cost through the proper planning and execution of production/service scheduling
> Responsible to manage procurements for assigned commodities to satisfy business needs while complying with government, quality system and company policy requirements. Work in partnership with Manufacturing to assure all production orders and requirements are met. Support on-time delivery and production productivity by maintaining an effective supply chain. Facilitate solutions to schedule changes and commercial/technical issues with suppliers. This position requires the ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms to meet FLIR?s customer requirements. This position has direct responsibility for managing supply chain risk and maximizing margin and cash flow through cost savings and inventory management.
> Planning, procuring and scheduling material to support daily production requirements and fulfilling customer?s expectations. Data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand. Review incoming orders against forecast / material availability, adjusting as necessary and communicating product availability to appropriate parties in the organization.
> Create detailed schedules, analyze material constraints and prioritize production/service orders for manufacturing optimization. Review priorities with production to ensure sales commitments are met. Monitor progress and status of production work orders and ensures work is rescheduled / prioritized when issues impact the original schedule (e.g. material shortages, capacity, engineering, etc.). Analyze and prepare documents needed for shipments. Review manufacturing variances prior to completing orders.
> Conduct ERP analysis and planning through order placement and management including the following: analyze purchase requisitions; initiate RFQs/RFPs; review bids; select vendors; negotiate terms, conditions and pricing of material or services to be procured and issue/manage subsequent purchase orders. Manage day to day supplier issues, maintain purchasing master data in ERP system and complete required documentation associated with government procurements
> Drive continuous improvement in the supply chain's quality, delivery and cost processes including sourcing activities and inventory reduction.
> Assess sources of supply to maximize overall total cost of ownership. Negotiate and Initiate purchase agreements to support requirements. Manage sub contracts and develop effective working relationships with suppliers. Develop alternate sources of supply in addition to other actions taken to manage supply risk.
> Manage materials assigned to maximize inventory turns. Participate in material analysis activities for continuous improvement of material, cost and lead-time.
> Maintain ERP system master data in order that material is scheduled to maintain minimum inventory levels, limit variances, and incorporate changes in demand. Manage engineering change order implementation for assigned materials. Coordinate dispositions for discrepant material as assigned. Manage supply chain process and address root cause and corrective action related to defective material.
> 7 ? 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent required.
> Knowledge of PC software (spreadsheet, word processing) required.
> Recent exp in production planning, material control and scheduling using a MRP automated system is required.
> Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.
> APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management or APICS CPIM preferred (American Production & Inventory Control Society)
