Job Description:
We currently seek a high caliber Project Engineer for a Contract hire posting within our client?s team of experienced professionals/to work on a contract basis.
Based in West Virginia, you will be working for one of the world?s leading engineering, procurement & construction companies.
Job Desiption:
? The Project Engineer is responsible for the management and execution of assigned projects in accordance with the requirements and work processes of the contract between the company, the client and the company?s operating policies and principles. Manages and controls project cost, scope and schedule.
? Review and input to PoST submittals. Reviews PoST with the Lead Project Engineer for final approval.
? Work with the client to developed definition grade scope for approved PoST.
? Document defined scope in a format to be review by the Lead Project Engineer and used by the Estimator for the development of a definition grade budget.
? Work with procurement to develop qualified bidders for scope of work.
? For on-site services provide a written Scope of Work (SOW) utilizing part 1 of the contract. Review written scope with the Lead Project Engineer and assigned Construction Contracts Supervisor.
? Complete a Review/Approval Transmittal (RAT) for all scopes of work requiring services or purchases.
? Provides the technical and justification data needed for a Capital Appropriation Request (CAR)
? Assist the Construction supervisor in field management of sub-contractors as needed.
? Lead the project close out effort.
? Follows established work processes.
? Develops an understanding of all aspects of the contract and scope.
? Assist estimator with estimate development.
? Maintains liaison with client representatives to ensure proper and timely involvement and approvals.
? Develops and maintains communications to ensure the accurate and timely flow of information between the client, vendor and construction supervisor.
? Works with the Construction Supervisor to identify and evaluate items that constitute an increase or decrease in schedule or costs, reviewing and initiating deviation notices and change orders as required.
? Works with the Construction Supervisor and contractor in the development and coordination of a constructability review.
? Prepares periodic (TBD) status reports for assigned projects to keep management informed of project progress including the status of costs, schedule, safety, change order log, issues etc.
? Maintains knowledge of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner, and, while supervising others, has responsibility for the safety of those being supervised and ensures they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits.
? Responsible for understanding the entire Code of Conduct and complying with its requirements
? Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
? BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
? 10-15 years experience of scope writing, estimating, contracts management etc.
