Summary:
? The Active Equity IT team supports Active Equity (AE) business. The AE business uses a fundamental research approach to constructing equity portfolios with the goal of maximizing return and minimizing risk. With over $90 billion in assets under management, the business requires application development and technical automation in all aspects of their business including trading, research and product strategies. The IT team is responsible for the development and support of this infrastructure.
? Currently, the team is working on many projects. This position will include the development web-based applications and reports to support trading functions and assist in the research process. These applications will be developed in Java with a Sybase back-end. In addition, as part of the AE IT team, the candidate will help support existing AE applications outside of these projects ? this includes production support.
Principal Responsibilities
? Work on design, development, and testing of web-based trading applications and research reports.
? Understand business flows
? Analyze and define requirements
? Help maintain and enhance various AE systems including but not limited to the web-based applications

Experience/Skills
? Strong web development and Java programming skills complemented by experience with Servlets, JSP, etc.
? Experience with database design and development
? Sybase and Perl (or another scripting language)
? Excellent verbal and communication skills

? Good team player
