The Global Sales Technology department serves the technology needs of the Equities and FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities) sales force. The successful candidate will join the Sales Core Service team based in New York. Sales Core Services provides strategic data services, frameworks and infrastructure that cut across all the groups in Sales and many in Trading technology. This core technology role offers the opportunity to interact with both sales technologists and other core technology teams from around the firm.
Sales Core Services are written primarily in Java, and interact with many other technologies including C++, web and open-source software. Databases include Sybase and DB2/UDB, and other technologies include Fitnesse, Perl, Python and Shell Scripting.

5+ Years
Requirements:
MANDATORY
? Have 5-10 years development experience
? Strong object oriented programming
? Solid Java skills (Core J2SE, Threading, Servlets, etc?)
? C++ skills (including Threading)
? Strong SQL/DB2/Sybase skills
? Working knowledge of Threading in Java
PREFERRED
? .Net experience
? Knowledge of basic Financial products and Derivatives a plus
? Knowledge about open source technologies
RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful candidate will work on a team to design and develop software components and developer tools. This will include:
? Complete software lifecycle development
? Design of services and components
? Implementing new services in primarily in Java
? Writing SQL/Stored Procedures/Views in DB2
? Enhancing existing services in written in Java and C++
? Investigate new technologies to help in the building of strategic solutions for Sales.
? Working with other core technology teams to leverage their technologies, to share ours and to collaborate on cross area projects
? Working with sales technology groups to define and capture requirements
? Working with sales technology groups to assist adoption of core team services
? Building and deployment of software using a variety of proprietary, scripting and open source tools.
? Configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
? Support and development of the build tools currently used in the environment.
? Research/build/implement new tools to improve the software lifecycle.
? Identify and implement processes to strengthen, streamline, and automate build processes.
? Write and maintain documentation
In addition as part of the New York Sales Core Infrastructure team the candidate will be responsible for helping to support production services globally.
