Communications Manager internal Communications

Summary of Position



The Manager will support the Director of Internal Communications and partner with business units, Segment IT and Enterprise IT to drive new and existing programs that inform, engage and inspire DIMG employees.

This role is specifically responsible for building and developing the intranet as a strategic communications tool and working with a number of internal stakeholders to develop and drive effective electronic channels for employees. This position resides within the Internal Communications, which is a part of Human Resources and Communications. This role reports to the Director of Internal Communications.

Main Roles and Responsibilities



· The development, design and implementation of the Intranet, including developing and owning the overall Intranet strategy.

· Coordinate and lead project working group, collaborating with DIMG IT on solution architecture and design.

· As a business partner, work with diverse business stakeholders to identify and deliver intranet content and functionality that supports business communication objectives and processes.

· Provide editorial leadership for the Intranet ? develop and manage the content plan and calendar, working with DIMG Internal and External Communications to provide corporate communications

content, while building a network of content owners in the business for other information.

· Deliver content and functionality that increases employee engagement and productivity across the global organization.

· Develop and manage the design and usability plan, including providing creative Web design skills.

· With the IT team, collaborate on the technical deliverables that provide best-in-class design, functionality, content management, collaboration and social media.

· Based on feedback and metrics, develop innovative ?marketing? strategies to drive usage and improve usability by enhancing content quality and the user experience.

· Bring emerging issues and trends in electronic communications to the business stakeholders and the Corporate Communications and IT teams.

· Manage, communicate and provide training on the intranet governance and standards to ensure consistency and efficiencies.

· Develop and manage project plans that drive towards timely, on-budget completion of tasks.

· Manage the creative and content development of additional e-communication channels ? DIMG weekly e-newsletter and quarterly e-video, linking content to Intranet.

· Bachelor?s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or IT background with proven online communications experience.

· Excellent project management skills - with the ability to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

· 5+ years experience in intranet/internet design and development.

· Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships and manage internal business partners as a key account relationship.

· Strong verbal communications skills. Must be able to effectively interact with and present information to employees of all levels, including senior management.

· Demonstrated understanding and application of social media technologies in a corporate communications environment.

· Excellent copywriting and editing skills and the ability to craft high-impact communications.

· Must be creative, open to change, a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and a strategic thinker.

· Good knowledge of personal computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Operating Systems (e.g. Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003 etc) Microsoft Front Office and Back Office applications.

· Proven development experience using at least one of the following Java, JavaScript, (X)HTML, CSS, XML or PHP.

· Experience of Content Management (CM) is highly desirable.

· Understanding of issues relating to information security.
