Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic, smart, results-oriented person to be the IT administrator for our industry-leading marketplace, focusing exclusively on the Internet-related environment. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering and includes some management responsibility. As our Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of our websites.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide Linux systems administration support on both production and development environment servers
Ensure the availability of resources (internal and/or outsourced)
Support web infrastructure applications such as Apache, JBoss and BIND
Design, build, configure, and deploy new servers and technologies
Recommend and deploy new architecture and application enhancements
Monitor all servers and applications, and troubleshoot for performance
Design and implement disaster recovery plan for servers, applications, and databases
Collaborate with cross-departmental colleagues to analyze and resolve operational issues from customers, end users, or internal customers in a timely and accurate fashion
Manage email servers, including bulk email and transactional e-mail, with occasional assistance in sending Bulk Email
Perform system backups and recovery
Perform server and security audits
Experience Level:
5+ Years
Requirements:
Experience managing an enterprise environment, including user accounts and system monitoring
Experience with either MySQL or Oracle
Bachelor?s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent
5 years experience in systems administration of Linux environments
Strong organizational and problem solving skills, as well as an willingness to work cross-functionally with other teams in the organization
History of working in an e-commerce environment a plus
