Descriptions: - MUST HAVE SCI CLEARANCE TO BE CONSIDERED Standard Job Description Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. - Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. - Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. - Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Specific Job Description Systems engineer with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the development, fabrication, and verification of subsea systems for the Navy. - Candidate should have leadership qualities and possess multiple years of experience in leading customer/co-contractor Integrated Product Teams (IPT?s) composed of senior personnel. - The ability to organize, effectively conduct, and document meetings is a mandatory prerequisite. - As the IPT lead, the candidate will serve as the company?s focal point for all key technical interactions and communications with Navy?s assistant program manager (APM). - In addition, the IPT lead will be the primary conduit for the IPT?s interaction with the program?s Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) IPT and Chief Engineer. - The IPT lead will also be required to chair the subsystem CCB. - Ability to develop detailed briefings for presentation to senior management a must. - Additional tasks will include management of process metrics, technical performance metrics (TPMs), and risk. - Strong communications skills, organizational skills, and detail oriented skills are mandatory. - Utilize customer?s program level requirements to develop subsystem requirements specification (B1 Specification). - Candidate must be experienced in deriving requirements, pursuing clarification of ambiguous customer requirements, and interpreting military standards and specifications. - Subsequent tasks include requirements allocation to lower level assemblies, requirements verification matrices, and documentation of requirements rationale. - Possess a strong background in the development, coordination, and documentation of ship interfaces in support of the subsystem?s interface with the Navy?s Littoral Combat Ship. - Because of the complex nature of two programs (ADS and LCS) being developed in parallel, a proven ability to manage requirements, requirements change, and requirements creep is essential. - Manage hardware interfaces with co-contractors through the use of interface control documents and strong communication skills. - Work closely with Project Engineer to assure all internal and external interfaces have been properly implemented. - Conduct and lead complex trade studies which take safety, reliability, life cycle cost, development risk, performance, etc. into account. - Support development of multiple lower level performance specifications (B2/B5 Specifications). - Work with responsible engineers to make sure requirements are clear, concise, verifiable, non ambiguous, traceable to the B1, and commensurate with program cost and schedule constraints. - Candidate must be experienced in the development of large subsystem test and evaluation master plans used to manage and convey the verification methods that will be used to assure requirements compliance. - As part of the effort, the candidate will need to coordinate all government furnished equipment/support and co-contractor furnished equipment needs and need dates.
The candidate must have the following technical skills: ? Strong structural skills associated with underwater vehicles and structures ? Underwater vehicle mechanical engineering principles ? Underwater vehicle propulsion ? Underwater vehicle electrical systems and software ? Underwater array deployment methodologies and design drivers ? Underwater vehicle hydrodynamic characteristics and design drivers Minimum education should include a bachelors degree in mechanical or ocean engineering.

Requirements: Requirements: - Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. - Considered an emerging authority. - Required skills Thorough knowledge of underwater fiber optics cable systems, and the issues involved in their deployment and survivability. - Understanding of the systems engineering skills involved in working with large underwater systems. - Familiarity with at-sea testing, test vessels, preparation of test plans and procedures. - Leadership skills for conducting at-sea tests. Experience in working with large industrial and government teams in and integrated product team (IPT) environment. - Knowledge of SE software particularly the DOORS SW package. - Understanding and experience with the Earned Value Measurement System (EVMS) and its application to large programs. - Desired skills ProE models AutoCad Government drafting standards - Drug Test - Background Check - US Citizenship & Secret Clearence
