Job Description: Seeking an Accounting Policy manager to work for the SVP Accounting Policy who can:
(1) Evaluate the impact of proposed and new accounting rules and advise business unit controllers on implementation.
(2) Monitor emerging accounting standards during the exposure draft period; interpret their impact to the Bank, and present implementation status to senior management.
(3) Provide proactive, expert consultation and support on transactions, new product initiatives and other issues requiring technical accounting interpretations by identifying and addressing accounting policy and reporting issues (e.g., acquisitions, leases, derivatives and hedging activities, commercial and consumer lending).
(4) Lead financial accounting due diligence efforts and apply complex accounting and reporting concepts to deal structures.
(5) Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Finance partners and internal stakeholder groups, including our Parent Company. Provide on-going guidance to business unit controllers.
(6) Assist with preparation of comment letters to the FASB, the IASB and other accounting standard-setters.
(7) Maintain the Corporate Accounting Policy Manual. Provide expertise in recommending enhancements and/or additions to the Manual.
(8) Assist in representing the company externally on issues relating to accounting policy through participation in industry-wide associations and related organizational meetings.
