CLEARING AND SETTLEMENTS MANAGER
SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA
?« Manage settlements group for retail, institutional and capital markets dealer businesses across all products and depositories
?« Work closely with underwriting syndicate desk (for high grade corporate bonds and municipals)
?« Work closely with Cash Management area in funding of the firm for new deal issuance and settlement
?« Work closely with Corporate Actions group for both retail and dealer positions and activity
?« Work closely with repo desk and securities lending/borrow desk
?« Hold regular inter-departmental meetings communicating details of new deal issuance and associated settlement
?« Responsibility for clearing and depository relationships, including monitoring and maintaining adequate funding levels
?« Responsible for business requirements, testing and implementing of new systems or processes, working with other departments including Project Management and Technology
?« Create management reports and use data to observe, report and manage trends
?« Ensure that all data points and system interfaces are reconciled timely
?« Ensure that all regulatory requirements related to 15c3-3 and uniform practice code are understood and met
?« Manage the P&S department with responsibility for inter-dealer trade comparisons, institutional trade submissions and all regulatory trade reporting
?« Interact regularly with senior management, underwriters, traders and sales personnel
?« Aggressively manage fails
?« Automate processes and manage to exceptions
?« Participate in regular management calls and actively participate in discussions
?« Hire, develop, train and mentor staff to effectively and enthusiastically support the sales and trading groups and to work as team-members with other departmental groups and business partners.
?« Engage with the industry ¡V join committees, as appropriate; review industry communications, Notice to Members, white papers, etc. Keep current with best practices
Requirements
?« Bachelor¡¦s degree
?« 10+ years experience in self-clearing operations; 5+ years experience in settlements/5+ years experience in a management role
?« Strong leadership and mentoring skills
?« Deep experience with DTC and Fed settlements and systems
?« Deep experience with NSCC and FICC
?« Deep experience in equities and fixed income products, particularly corporates and municipals
?« Experience with syndicate and underwriting operational support and support for corporates and municipals
?« Experience with Euroclear and foreign securities settlements
?« Middle Offce/Trade Support background a plus
?« Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
?« Knowledge of Phase3 system and Bloomberg a plus
