Job Description: Our client is seeking a skilled Production Database Administrator with experience in both SQL and Oracle databases. SQL is the primary database in use.
Responsibilities:
Manage SQL Servers Manage Oracle database servers. Monitor database server status and backups on both SQL Server and Oracle. Work on daily user requests and operational tasks. Work on major projects. Work with different MIS teams and customers. Document issues and procedures for problem resolution. Update documents as changes are made to the database and servers to ensure current status od documentation. The ideal candidate will also possess the following:
Willingness to be on-call 24x7 for db issues. Able to multi-task between projects and daily operational tasks. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Equal comfort level to work individually and coordinate with a team. Required Microsoft SQL Server skills:
Experience Level: Unspecified
Requirements: 2-4 years experience as Production DBA for SQL Server. Good knowledge and experience of MS Windows infrastructure. Previous experience MS Windows Server installation and setup. Previous experience with Windows cluster setup and configuration. Good knowledge and experience with Active Directory. Good knowledge of locking down Windows and SQL servers. Knowledge and experience with basic server hardware (CPUs, memory, hard disks etc.) Setup of SQL Server 2000, 2005, and 2008 (stand-alone and clustered). Hands on database backup and restoration experience. Database migration and import/export experience. Experience in SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS/DTS) and SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS). Manage Windows and SQL Server user accounts. SQL Server disaster recovery techniques and procedures. Performance monitoring of Windows and SQL servers. Track and document server and database changes.
