Requirements:
Job Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and monitor servers for many clients in multiple locations in the NYC area including central hosting facility.
Ensure corporate and client environments are operational and available on a 24/7 basis.
System performance analysis and tuning
Responsible for day-to-day maintenance including user account management and security, data backup and recovery, installation of systems and software, installation of system patches, and collaborating with team members on issue resolutions.
Document systems, configurations, and operational instructions
Develop proposals for recommending upgrades for software/hardware
Plan for sizing and scaling of servers
Servers: UNIX, Linux, NT/2000 Servers, VMware
Software: JBOSS, Borland Enterprise Server, WebSphere, Apache, Qmail, SMTP, djbdns, BIND, MS Exchange , Back Exec, Arcserver, Veritas, Tivoli
Databases: Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, MySQL
Cisco Networks: Catalyst, LD, PIX
Skill Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years related experience.
Expertise in UNIX, Linux and Windows hardware/software troubleshooting techniques and enterprise infrastructure support.
Knowledge and/or experience in LAN's, WAN's, and security is also required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or the equivalent in training and experience.
