Job Description:
The client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced UNIX manager to join its HR/Payroll Projects.
This position is for a seasoned UNIX Manager with extensive experience in the management of multiple AIX servers in a multi-tiered environment.
The UNIX Manager must be self-motivating with a positive attitude and willing to work with application and integration teams on tactical and strategic projects.
Our HR application and some Payroll applications reside on AIX servers.
The Primary Responsibilities include:
? Responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining the standard operating procedures for the UNIX team.
? The individual must have solid experience and understanding of IBM AIX Operating Systems.
? Manage UNIX installations and upgrades.
? Management of day to day operations including issue resolution, resource utilization and task schedule management.
? Provide leadership to the UNIX team to best meet the commitments and the project target dates.
? Support backup, recovery, performance and tuning, problem determination and resolution.

Essential Skills:
? Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.
? The individual must have strong Project Management skills.
? Must have strong understanding of Logical Partitioning, Dynamic Logical Partitioning, Server Virtualization, HACMP.
? Must have a strong understanding of monitoring and capacity planning tools.
? Must have a strong understanding of EMC Symmetric San environments, Veritas Netbackup and BMC Patrol.
