Job Description: The successful candidate will have recent hands on experience in the areas specifically identified below as well as 1-3 years of management experience leading a small team in a dynamic environment. The right person will be able to prioritize and manage their own as well as their team?s workflow, and drive the standardization of process and policy across all area within Network Operations. Technically, this person will have a proven ability not only to design and manage but also identify, triage and resolve network issues that can adversely impact systems. The Network administrator will support multiple networks in a production and development environment. Previous Production Network Admin Support Experience required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment are required.
Ability to discuss technical issues and collaborate with other technical leads, in other disciplines, is required.
Overall Responsibilities
Provide day to day supervision to Network team and operations support in administrating, maintaining and configuring network devices; Working in the larger Operations group, serve as the lead network interface with issues related to the network and larger scoped projects involving network support.
Network design: Build-out of production and non productions networks Develop automated processes and procedures to assist or replace manual actions related to performance or uptime.
Remediate security vulnerabilities in all supported networks Create and/or update network policy and procedures documentation.
Experience Level: 5+ Years
Requirements: Technical Experience: TCP/IP troubleshooting techniques Building and configuring Cisco switches (6500, 2900, 4500, etc.) from the bottom up. Scripting in a UNIX/Linux/Windows environment using Shell, Perl, or other languages Network and server security hardening Network security scanning utilizing one of the following tools: Nessus, Retina, QualysGuard Layer 2/3/7 Security concepts and management Layer 2 protocols such as STP and VTP troubleshooting and management Creation of trunking and etherchannel configurations Routing protocols (EIGRP, RIPv2, BGP, OSPF) Cisco ACS (TACACS and RADIUS protocols) Configuring Cisco PIX firewalls (501, 515, 525, etc.) setup, implementation, administration and documentation Configuring various models of Cisco routers (2800, 3600, 3700, 7200, etc.) Monitor, analyze and tune network performance Monitor syslogs for potential issues Management and administration for using network monitoring software (HP Openview, Whatsup Gold, Smarts In Charge, Netcool, etc.) Cisco VoIP and QoS SNMP alert generation, traps, etc. Using SYSLOG for network logging. Work effectively in a multi network/VLAN environment Experience with Cisco CSM (content switch module) and SSL modules Desired, but not required Good understanding of Windows Servers and Active Directory Good understanding of Linux/UNIX systems and commands Minimal Experience 5 years with preferable two years responsible for managing a small team.
