FPGA Design Engineer

We are seeking to hire a FPGA Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering team based in Andover, MA, USA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The FPGA Design Engineer will architect, develop, test, integrate and verify HDL designs for DSP based FPGAs. In
addition, will perform research and development of new FPGA implementations (potentially including image
processing), FPGA tools, and debug tools for use in future products.
HDL (Verilog) Development and Verification
Architect FPGA designs and write requirements.
Analyze and tradeoff multiple design approaches, balancing various product requirements and desires.
Analyze project and product risk and provide mitigations as needed.
Estimate project work and track progress towards completion.
Develop methods to determine if the FPGA implementation is consistent with the model and support the
Document FPGA designs, simulations, and verification results.
SystemVerilog (IEEE1800) Design Verification (DV)
Assist the Design Verification team with System-Level and Block-Level Testbench creation and tweaks.
Capability to leverage, modify and own parts of existing SystemVerilog Testbench and Testcases.
"C” Code Development
Write driver level "C" code and APIs for interfacing to the FPGA.
Write diagnostic "C" code for use in debug, bring up, and manufacturing test.
Project Development Teams
Provide FPGA assistance for the Engineering and Manufacturing personnel during the various design phases.
Contribute design ideas, constraints, trade-offs and concerns to the Project Managers.
Participate in and/or perform the critical reviewer function during design reviews.
Provide sustaining support for existing product lines. This may include analysis and resolution of field issues
and/or manufacturing issues.
Pass on specific and general engineering and FPGA design skills to others in the company.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, emphasis in Digital Design or related field.
2-5 years of related experience with FPGA, or ASIC Design.
Experience in telecommunication applications in FPGAs (packet processing, data & control plane, high-speed IO,
SystemVerilog Design Verification experience highly desirable.
Fluent in Verilog (preferred) or VHDL.
A detailed understanding of how FPGA designs are implemented specifically simulation, synthesis, place and
Understanding of Xilinx (preferred) or Altera FPGA tool flows.
Experience writing low level "C” code drivers and diagnostics preferred.
