Job Description: The Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining daily operational controls of all Linux and Web Farm server configurations, system libraries, patches, OS changes, new product testing, alarms, alerts, triage documentation, change control, and load management. In addition, the Systems Engineer will support daily operations of all systems used to deliver content which may include: web, video, email, application, and eCommerce servers.
Experience Level: 2 Years
Requirements: ? BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or related field and experience. ? 2 years of experience in system administration. ? 1 years of Unix scripting. Technical Knowledge and Skills Required ? Experience configuring large enterprise, high availability systems. ? Advanced knowledge of configuration management using Linux and Unix. ? Knowledgeable in Perl and Shell. ? General understanding of DR/BCP.
Key Responsibilities ? Follows established process for maintaining processes and procedures to deploy software and configurations into production environments. ? Rebuilds the production, development and QA environments with specific expertise in Linux, Unix, RedHat, clustering, backups and other production procedures as necessary. ? Installs and removes all Internet Operations (IO) systems as needed. ? Identifies and ensures the performance, trending, management and monitoring tools are adequate and accurate for us to deliver quality products to our businesses. ? Works with vendor engineers to validate integrity of systems and service prior to staging to production. ? Works with fiber channel switches, performs configurations, defines and resolves all cable issues within the data center.
