Job Description:
Senior Hardware Engineer - 70 to 95K - Akron, OH - No relo; No sponsorship
Design and develop electronic products for industrial and embedded systems. Position entails design of new products, extension of current product lines, and sustaining work on mature product lines. Products are focused on wired and wireless device networking and device connectivity. Creativity and initiative are two important characteristics of the successful candidate. Position will be based in Northeast Ohio.
Responsibilities include:
?X Cost-effective design of high-volume electronic products.
?X Development of product specifications.
?X Schematic creation and entry.
?X Work closely with PCB designer to optimize board layouts.
?X Prototype, test, and drive products into production.
?X Creation of test plans.
?X Troubleshooting and problem solving, including root cause failure analysis.
?X Creation of documentation such as user manuals and datasheets.
?X Characterization and evaluation of 802.11 radio performance.
?X Work with outside lab for Regulatory compliance and testing, e.g. FCC, CE.
Qualifications:
?X Bachelor¡¦s degree in Electrical Engineering.
?X 5+ years equivalent work experience.
?X Successful design of high-volume electronic products.
?X Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
?X Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new skills and knowledge.
?X Highly desirable skills and experience include:
o Use of RF test equipment
o Analog design skills
o Wireless protocol experience (Zigbee, Bluetooth, RFID, etc.)
