Job Description:
Client is a worldwide supplier of custom-engineered large machinery and equipment. Today, as our clients work to meet the energy needs of the nation and the world, our business continues to grow.

The Design Engineer / Project Engineer position supports the Air Handling group through equipment and system design execution, technical interface with customers, creation of purchasing specifications and review and acceptance of third party drawings. You will provide proposal support including specification review, site layouts, fan sizing, preliminary component selection, solicitation of component bids, development of cost and price, sales meetings with client and proposal generation.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

? Calculations and analysis to determine the mechanical, structural, dynamic and aerodynamic characteristics and acceptability of a fan system.
? Creation of layouts and familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
? Creation of purchasing specifications and review and acceptance of third party drawings.
? Packaging of work for outside engineering services.
? Interface with procurement groups, buyers, fabricators, and customers.
? Resolution of fabrication variances and field problems.
? Generation of test procedures, design of test tooling, test execution and reporting.

General Requirements: Successful execution of this position requires the ability to interact professionally with others. Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities are essential. Excellent oral & written communication skills are essential.

Educational Requirements: BSME minimum, P.E. license a plus

Experience Needed: Minimum five years and familiarity with fabricated metal products, rotating equipment, weldments, and standards such as AMCA, ASTM, AISI.

Qualifications:

Familiarity/Experience with statics, mechanic, vibration, fluids and metallurgy.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.

Rotating equipment design (fans, motors, pumps), utility power generation, or heavy industrial industries experience a strong plus.

Familiar with standards suchg as ASTM,AISI, AND AWS

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Fluent in standard office software (Word, Excel) and AutoCAD and Solid Works.
