Job Description:
Entry Level Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Service Tech - Akron, OH area for 1st year of training then live anywhere and travel approx 85% of the time. No relo; no sponsorship. 45 to 55K
Local Akron client seeking entry level service engineering technicians with Mechanical or Chemical backgrounds with a focus in the power or utility industry.
Client is a worldwide supplier of custom-engineered large machinery and equipment. Today, as our clients work to meet the energy needs of the nation and the world, our business continues to grow.
This position is responsible for performing limited technical field service activities in connection with the installation (erection) and service on fans and associated or related equipment, in order to learn about utilization of company products. This applies to fans and equipment as applied to power plants, mine and tunnel ventilation systems, and wind tunnel installation.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
? Provides technical liaison to Customers (including consultants and engineers), Erectors and Service (start-up) personnel, in connection with assigned field services.
? Provides maintenance and repair assistance as required.
? Reviews pertinent contract information data and drawings preparatory to installation and/or start-up of all equipment to become familiar with contractual obligations.
? Thoroughly checks out and inspects fans and equipment prior to and during installation ad start-up, for quality and suitability for operation.
? Assists in special field assignments on fans and equipment involving unusual problems (trouble-shooting).
? Develops written installation procedures and operating and maintenance instructions for fans and equipment.
? Sets up procedures and instructs operators and maintenance personnel on operation and maintenance.
? Documents Company by field engineer progress and special reports as required, covering mechanical suitability and performance characteristics of equipment supplied.
Prefer Mechanical Engineering background but electrical backgrounds and others + experience is also ideal.

Requirements:
Engineering Degree and 1 year experience preferable in the power or utility industry or with fans, valves, or pumps. Ability to travel 85 to 90%.
