Reference Number: 681 Job Description: Sr Database Administrator-0900060 Description Designs and maintains the enterprise's databases. Provides technical expertise in the use of database technology. Accountable for the performance of the databases and application using the databases. Works closely with clients, business analysts, systems programmers, and application developers to define and resolve information flow and content issues---helping to transform business requirements into environment specific databases. Monitors and analyzes performance metrics and allocates database resources to achieve optimum database performance. Primary Responsibilities: Works on multiple projects as a project leader, or sometimes as a project advisor. Supports multiple servers and multiple databases of medium to high complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of the data. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience or certifications will be considered. Must have at least 8 years of related Information Technology experience. Expert in database administration, database monitoring and tuning, logical data modeling and physical database development. Extensive experience in database administration of one or more of the relational databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server) is essential. Understands the principles, theories, practices and techniques of project management.
