Job Description: 3 month Right to hire: MS Engineer
Data Center Operations team is looking for an experienced Windows systems engineer to join a team responsible for everything thing from basic sustaining engineering activities to the build out of new infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in server administration coupled with real-world experience working in a 24x7x365 highly available enterprise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and manages server, storage and application configurations, implementations new projects and technologies Performs hardware setup, software installation/configuration and the day-to-day administration of Microsoft operating systems and related services (e.g., Exchange, IIS, MS-SQL) Perform production operations support including checking daily logs, backup/recovery procedures, disaster recovery, and periodic maintenance Performs on-going performance and operations management to ensure the smooth operation and overall efficiency of the Windows Server environment. This includes upgrades, patches, managing and monitoring system and application backups, performance monitoring and notification tools Develops quality measurement and reporting procedures for support to manage the satisfaction of service level agreements Conducts performance tuning, ensures the availability of systems and performs capacity planning for server and storage resources Provides regular management reports and recommendations regarding capacity planning for resources within the position's scope of responsibility Evaluates new technologies & tools, testing & installation of new Windows Server systems hardware & software, and assists with establishing and maintaining technical standards, policies & procedures Maintains the Active Directory structure and all interrelated authentication systems, including the administration of user accounts, shared resources and access permissions. Maintenance and upkeep of Active Directory structure Microsoft SharePoint and SCCM administration Maintenance and upkeep of Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Microsoft Exchange 2007 Collecting, monitoring and analyzing system performance data This position is part of a team of people directly responsible for the 24x7 availability of infrastructure in multiple states. As such afterhours work will occasionally be necessary to accommodate maintenance windows and address unexpected outages.
Minimum Qualifications: Six or more year*s business work experience with Windows Server Operating Systems, specifically Windows 2000/2003 and a strong background in Active Directory. Six or more year*s business work experience with Microsoft Exchange Bachelors degree with a focus in computer science, management information systems or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience Three or more years of experience working in a 24x7x365 enterprise environment. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder

Technical Skills: Microsoft Windows Server 2000 & Server 2003 administration (2008 a plus).
Microsoft Windows Server 2000 Active Directory structure and management Expert level knowledge in the implementation and a management of complex storage environments, including storage area networks (SANs) is preferred. Such experience would include disk and RAID group configurations, volume management, as well as backup/recovery strategies Strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, SMTP and server load balancing knowledge Exchange 2003 or 2007 administration and management Email archive management (EAS or Zantaz Enterprise experience a plus) Blackberry Enterprise Server administration Microsoft SharePoint & Visual Source Safe Citrix VMware Terminal Services HP & Dell blade and rack mount servers Remote Desktop Software, VPN, and well versed in RFC 821/822. Veritas NetBackup Microsoft System Center Operations Manager ITIL certification a plus Microsoft Certification preferred.
