Job Description:
Senior Storage Engineer
Seeking an experienced Storage Engineer to lead a storage engineering team in the performance of analysis, installation, performance monitoring, capacity planning, modification and support of a large scale enterprise mainframe tape and document ASG/Mobius archiving environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Function as a technical expert in problem resolution for mainframe tape and document archiving infrastructure hardware and software issues.
* Manage the physical and logical configuration of all mainframe tape and document archiving systems.
* Evaluate new and existing storage software products to incorporate into the existing production environment.
* Monitor mainframe tape and imaging systems to insure adequate capacity, performance, and availability.
* Assist in with development, planning, preparation and ongoing disaster recovery readiness.
Experience Level:
5+ Years
Requirements:
SKILLS REQUIRED:
* At least five years of experience with Mainframe Tape Storage Systems and Document Archiving systems.
* Experience with IBM VTS Enterprise tape solutions and EMC Centera archive storage arrays.
* Experience with Unix Operating Systems, such as Solaris and/or AIX.
* Experience with Network Attached Storage (NAS), particularly EMC NAS.
* Experience with Mainframe storage tools/software, such as SMS, TMS, etc.
* Experience with ASG Mobius ViewDirect and Document Direct for the Internet.
* Experience with disaster recovery methodologies and data replication technologies.
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable experience.
