Job Description: This person will be the lead technical contributor for SW development for IA based tablet products. As an architect in this team, you will work with key customers, independent technology suppliers, marketing, engineering management and architects from multiple disciplines to negotiate, architect, and lead implementation of a wide range of high complexity features and systems. You will analyze requirements, and define software strategies.
In addition, this person will also work with silicon architects to influence the architecture of future silicon products and help software development teams with understanding, scoping, and planning implementation work. You will lead debug of especially difficult problems involving hardware and/or multiple software subsystems, and develop prototypes to evaluate or illustrate new technologies, designs, etc. This person will as well be responsible for driving continuous improvements in software development processes and product quality.
Technical mentoring skills are key, for the development and guidance for other Engineers within a software team. In this team, they are developing and delivering innovative platforms across the board in each segment.
Experience Level: 5+ Years
Requirements: **Minimum of a BS degree in Computer Eng., Com. Sci, or Elect. Eng. **Minimum of 10 years developing software drivers **Strong Embedded Firmware plus 2 years of soft/system Arch exp. **High performance GFX and video/audio processing background needed **Demonstrated success in designing and leading implementation **The ability to meet aggressive deadlines, involving multiple teams **Strong knowledge of Windows internals/drivers and RTOS concepts **Experience with leading collaborative SW/silicon development is required
**Knowledge of IA/PC system architecture **Experience with development of consumer based devices **Expertise highly desired, in tablets, mobile phones, set top boxes **Technical communication skills very important **Documentation and present complex technical information needed
