Job Description: - Minimum 3 - 5 years experience writing sophisticated SQL queries as a data analyst, business intelligence developer or data warehouse specialist in a fast-paced, data-focused environment. - Extensive experience working with major database platforms such as Teradata (preferred), Microsoft SQL, Oracle and Business Intelligence solutions like Cognos (preferred), Business Objects, Microstrategy, or Crystal Reports. - Insurance Industry experience is preferred. - Bachelors or Masters Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Statistics or related fields is preferred. - Experience with data profiling, data quality and ad-hoc analysis of large data volumes. - Good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Visio). - Knowledge of relational database concepts is required, data modelling experience is preferred.
Experience Level: 3 Years
Requirements: - Work with project management, business analysis, data quality, quality assurance, development and architecture to develop and implement data analysis and data quality support solutions. - Utilize experience in data mining and data analysis to creatively approach and evaluate data sets which will provide new insights into source system reliability, data cleansing, data quality and data governance. - Create and maintain documentation for a variety of database systems being brought into the Business Insurance division¿s Enterprise Data Warehouse. - Identify data source(s), collect all appropriate business data rules, construct data decomposition diagrams, data mapping diagrams, data flow and process documentation. - Provide business-focused, data-specific technical assistance for current systems and feeds as needed to support business architecture and reporting needs. - Build and leverage effective alliances across the technical and business communities to ensure the efficient evaluation of data sources, business data rules and calculations. - Insure that management has timely and accurate information regarding performance and execution on assigned projects. - Able to provide management with substantive input. Influences peers and project staff through an inclusive style and the recognition and acceptance of their abilities and knowledge.
