Job Description:
-Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
-5+ years on-site systems experience in a manufacturing environment.
-Demonstrate working knowledge/experience in, Progress SQL Server and Oracle Database Administration.
- Demonstrate working knowledge/experience in UNIX Administration.
-Demonstrated understanding/experience of Progress Database (MFG/PRO based experience preferred).
-Thorough understanding of applicable systems architectures and comprehensive knowledge of multiple technical disciplines.
-Skilled in solving problems and managing the performance of systems assigned to.
-Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers.
-Understands enterprise business and business processes; knowledge of business unit functions and cross-group dependencies/relationships.
-Skilled in anticipating user requirements and skilled in identifying and resolving complex problems with minimal supervision.
-Strong communication, training, customer service and organizational skills
-Project experience with project lead experience

Requirements:
-Maintains and enhances the integrity, security and performance of Progress and Oracle databases and UNIX operating environment. Maintains and enhances the integrity, security and performance of SQL Server databases and the XP/Server 2000 operating environments.
-Supports internal staff by ensuring that the required Progress, Oracle and SQL Server databases are installed, maintained and available for use.
-Provides Progress, Oracle and SQL Server database administration support to IT projects. Reviews database design and stored procedures. Implements database upgrades, backups and restores.
Design, develop and maintain Progress and Oracle databases and UNIX systems in support of business applications. Design, develop and maintain SQL Server databases and XP/Server 2000 systems in support of business applications.
Provides a solid contribution to daily UNIX administration tasks and UNIX shell scripting.
-Provide a high degree of coordination between user, technical, application and corporate entities to ensure effective data management and overall system capability/stability.
-Creates processes for database and UNIX System changes as well as security and verification of the data.
-Participate in the design, creation and maintenance of Progress and Oracle databases in a UNIX and SQL Server and client/server environment.
-Responsible for quality control and auditing of Progress and Oracle databases in a UNIX environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
-Work with management to develop database strategies to support company needs.
-Work directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage.
-Analyze, test and implement physical database design supporting various business applications.
-Ensure data recovery, maintenance, data integrity and space requirements for physical databases are met through formulations and monitoring of policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.
-Ensure solutions meet business objectives. Establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in demonstrated knowledge of and concern for users' business needs.
-Create, develop and review the physical model created from the logical model, ensuring the detailed physical design of data structures and databases complies with standards, guidelines and procedures recommended for all aspects of data modeling, Progress and Oracle database design and maintenance.
-Produce entity relationship diagrams, database normalization schemas, logical to physical database mapping and data table parameters.
-Perform technical analysis assignments to ensure cost effective and technically sound solutions are provided in response to the business' needs and ongoing strategies.
-Member of an on-call rotation team.
