Job Description: MUST HAVE: - BS in Computer Science - Minimum of 5-7 years administering Unix systems. - Thorough knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, YP/NIS, NFS, Automounter, SSH, HTTP, FTP, DNS, Samba, and DHCP. - Proficient in jumpstart install, be able to add and modify profiles - Experience with NIS+ and LDAP a strong plus - Experience with Backup software and tape libraries management desirable - Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose a problem and fix it - Experience with network tools such as ethereal - Some knowledge of Windows systems and protocols
DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: Solaris, LINUX, Checkpoint FW, Netscreen FW, Cisco VPN, Veritas, autoloaders, Cisco and Netgear switches and routers, NetApp OnTap, Cisco terminal servers
Experience Level: 5+ Years
Requirements: Job Functions : - Monitor all systems and implement best practices and procedures to minimize risk, outages, and data loss - Install, configure and maintain different flavors of Unix (Solaris Sparc, x86 and Linux) environment. - Resolve operating system, application software, hardware, networking and performance problems on various Solaris and Redhat Linux platforms. - Install, configure packages and software applications such as apache, and web applications. - Ability to rebuild the Unix kernel, and modify system parameters. - Ability to write and maintain shell scripts, using perl, bash, and csh to automate systems administration tasks. - Strong familiarity with production monitoring services: Nagios - Experience working with networking switches, routers and firewalls. - Experience with NetApp (NAS and SAN) iscsi storage - Be part of a 24 x 7 on-call rotation - Be able to work in a dynamic environment and willing to go outside of the job functions and help where needed
