Job Description:
The team lead must be proficient in performing DB2 database and system administration on an IBM Z800 or Z9 Mainframe/ZOS Operating system. Provide senior level expertise in the architecture, design, and implementation of highly available databases supporting enterprise business applications. Experience and proficiency in database design, monitoring and troubleshooting are a must. Candidate will provide project leadership for various initiatives in the database services area. This individual performs all internal activities related to DB2, vendor supplied system utilities, and custom processing applications. Experience in DB2 version upgrades is a must. Experience working with Websphere software is a plus. Individual is expected to manage assignment of work, perform reviews, and provide technical guidance to the staff. Specific responsibilities include: Manage the technical team of database administrators. Monitor DB2 space usage and database performance. Prepare detail project plans and schedules for software initiatives. Evaluates the company technology environment and recommends changes to the department manager . Reviews current and future system software requirements and makes recommendations in order to meet the organization's needs. Communicate project status at regular intervals to users, team members, and senior management. Lead multiple initiatives and projects concurrently. Monitor and make recommendations to management on established procedures for the mainframe, client server and web to maximize system and personal productivity and to minimize the occurrence of errors. Monitors and establishes procedures to maximize productivity and to minimize the occurrence of errors. Works with other internal departments to understand current and future projects to insure the systems programming infrastructure is able to meet the demands of future growth. Keep abreast of latest developments in technology to determine how The Reserve can leverage on these advancements. Possess excellent project management skills Possess Outstanding Performance and Tuning skills. In depth knowledge of DB2 development life cycle methodologies, project planning techniques, and project management principles.
