The Technology Services Software Quality (TSSQ) department of one of our clients is responsible for maximizing application quality and stability through the implementation of change control processes, tools, and environments; and the execution of software testing services. TSSQ is seeking a high-energy, motivated individual who combines strong technical skills with business acumen, proactive leadership, and a quality mindset for a Senior Software Engineer contractor position on the Tools Team.
The Tools Team is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise wide tools that are used to build, monitor, track and safeguard the client's code base.
As a Senior Software Engineer contractor on the Tools Team, you will be expected to assist in the rollout of Team Foundation Server features across client technology, as well as provide Team Foundation Server application support.
Primary Responsibilities --
- Assist in the rollout of Team Foundation Server features and process improvements
- Participate in efforts for ongoing support and maintenance of Team Foundation Server and related applications. Responsibilities include:
o Requirements gathering, system design, development of solutions, documentation, unit test, implementation, and maintenance of software projects
o Prioritizing tasks, providing estimates and statuses to management, and managing project schedules
o Identify and lead and/or participate in the resolution of issues with the appropriate technical and business resources
- Proactively seek opportunities to add value through the application of new technology solutions
- Demonstrate self-directed and proactive approach to tackling problems and leveraging resources
- Assist in identifying cost-savings opportunities and implement alternative approaches including process improvement initiatives or technology solutions to automate processes
- Work directly with Tools Team members and other customers

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- A four-year degree in Computer Science, or related studies
- Minimum of 5 years industry related Software Development experience
- Minimum of 3 years working with Object Oriented technologies
- High level familiarity with Team Foundation Server and at least two of the following features: Source Control, Work Item Tracking, Team Build, SharePoint, SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Strong analysis and problem solving skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Collaborative leadership style adaptable to various Development methodologies, strong bias for action, high personal integrity, willingness to take intelligent risks, and dedication to continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Project leadership experience
- Development experience with .Net and Java
- Web Application Development experience
- Experience with MS Windows Server 2003, XML and IIS
- Knowledge of relational databases
Contract: 6 months with a possible extension of another 6 months
