Job Description:
COOK SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL has an IMMEDIATE need for a Data Architect .
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Perform business analysis, data acquisition, and access analysis and design, DBMS optimization, recovery strategy and load strategy design, and implementation.
Responsible for data design, balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors.
Knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures.
Responsible for defining data architecture standards, policies and procedures for the form, structure, attributes, and nomenclature of data elements.
Apply accepted data content standards to technology projects.
Work with clients to understand data elements.
Participate in data modeling activities.
Validate data models.
Determine degree of normalization and organization of data models.
Design and implement complex data structures.
Determine logical design model of databases.
Actively cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with key technical and business stakeholders to share and disseminate knowledge across the enterprise.
Participate on, or lead teams that provide excellence in database deployment and provide consultative database technology leadership across the project life-cycle.
Provide full-life cycle architectural guidance and ensure quality technical deliverables.
Work with vendors to integrate selected third party applications.
Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies.
Assist the application development team by formulating and defining project scope and objectives based on user defined needs.
Devise and/or modify procedures to solve complex problems involving computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
Work with the business team and development team preparing detailed specifications from which programs can be written.
Analyze and assist with revising existing system logic in support of new business opportunities.
Required Skills:
Demonstrate experience and technical knowledge of all phases of applications system analysis and development.
Ability to design and develop enterprise-wide repositories for all corporate data tools, database systems, or other specialized decision support systems.
Understanding of current and emerging standards and technologies.
Excellent problem solving and data analysis skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to work individually and in a team environment.
6+years database administration experience using Oracle, SQL Server or AS/400.
2+years experience as a Data Architect .
2+years experience in developing and managing teams with varying skill and experience levels.
2+years experience in providing consultative database development and management assistance to development groups.
Education:
4 year college degree in computer science or related area of study or equivalent experience
