Job Description:
The Business Analyst works closely with Business and Functional personnel to evaluate business drivers and technology requirements, and defines systems strategies and specifications tailored to meet business requirements. The Business Analyst acts as a primary point of contact with the business on behalf of the application development organization. In this capacity, the Business Analyst is also a leader for change and process improvement.
The Business Analyst has primary responsibility for managing the Requirements Analysis process, a key component of the software development life cycle. Using industry standard analysis techniques and best practices, the incumbent solicits client requirements, analyzes business and information technology requirements, and prepares essential business requirements specifications packages to be delivered to the application development team. The incumbent is responsible for all communications and clarifications with the development team during the analysis, design and build phases of the SDLC.

Knowledge of the business and/or functional area the incumbent represents is highly desirable. The Business Analyst role requires significant interpersonal interaction with business/functional personnel; meeting/interview/workshop facilitation is a key activity of the role.

' Project Management ' knowledge of project management fundamentals; able to use project management tools and participate effectively in a structured project management environment.
' Quality ' understands and applies software quality management concepts, including testing and service level agreement management.
Other
' Familiarity with SEI Capability Maturity Model (CMM) framework and methodology is desired, but not a requirement.
' Ability to work effectively in teams is required. Includes instances where team membership spans multiple business units, locations or countries, and/or utilizes 3rd-party (offshore) resources.
' Must be systems-oriented, enjoy working with new tools and be a self-motivated learner.
' Must be able to work with senior management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems.

Related Work Experience
' Four (4) to six (6) years related experience, including three (3) to five (5) years of systems development experience.
' Two (2) years of solid experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
' Knowledge and experience with the business/application function he/she will represent is highly desirable.
' Experience with information technology management concepts, including technology investment planning and cost/benefit analysis.
' Experience with an off-shore development environment

Formal Education or Equivalent
Bachelors Degree - Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
