Job Description: Principal Duties and Responsibilities: ? Utilize different experimental approaches and techniques to evaluate poultry vaccine candidates. Handle embryonated eggs and chickens, perform necropsies, collect and analyze biological samples ? Use technical expertise in laboratory procedures, embryo and bird handling, avian biology to conduct experimental studies in an accurate and detailed manner. Learn research techniques and perform assays as necessary. ? Record, calculate and maintain detailed records of experimental data in accordance with GLP. Occasionally interpret experimental results and compose reports. Review, revise, and write SOPs as necessary. ? Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment. Ensure all necessary supplies are on hand or on order. Maintain, clean and calibrate assigned laboratory equipment. Perform quality control procedures and maintain records on assigned laboratory equipment. ? Follow corporate policies including safety, quality control, animal care, and other relevant policies. ? Complete word processing assignments using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a timely fashion.
Job Specifications: A BS in Biological Sciences and/or Animal Science and/or Poultry Science, with 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
Working Conditions: Usual laboratory, avian research center (vivarium), and office environment; should be able to lift 50 lbs weight.
