Job Description:
Cognos Developer/Administrator
The Cognos Developer/Administrator will work closely with cross-functional business teams to design and develop corporate BI capabilities including ad-hoc reports, OLAP, dashboards, and scorecards. The position will also be responsible for working with the System Administration team to monitor support the daily operations of the Cognos infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cognos 8 BI tool suite.
Responsibilities include:
Analyzing and documenting functional and technical specifications for reporting requirements
Utilizing Cognos 8 BI tool suite to develop operational reports for a variety of business areas
Working with offshore development teams to deliver reporting solutions
Developing and/or implementing Cognos report development best practice standards
Designing dashboards and scorecards to support strategic initiatives
Developing and implementing an internal Cognos end-user training curriculum
Work with System Administrators to monitor and support Cognos application and web server functions
Troubleshoot scheduled report or other reporting application problems
Administer system and data security
Requirements:
3+ years Cognos report development experience required
Cognos 8 BI experience
3+ years experience with data warehousing lifecycle and dimensional modeling is desired
JDE EnterpriseOne ERP reporting experience desired
Cognos Framework Manager design experience a plus
Strong SQL skills required preferably in an Oracle Database environment
Knowledge and understanding of relational and dimensional data models required
Ability to work with internal customers to obtain requirements and manage expectations
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Highly motivated self-starter who is motivated and quick to learn
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
