Job Description:
A Mobile, Alabama manufacturing facility in the oil and gas industry is in need of a Designer. This is an excellent opportunity!
This is a direct hire position with benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
Principal Responsibilities:
--Determine scale, performs complex mathematical calculations and prepare layouts for detailing.
--Implement required changes to resolve filed problems and improve product performance and reliability.
--Assist in analysis of problem areas and recommend solutions
--Assist with building prototypes and in validation of builds on the production floor.
--Review customer?s specifications and propose designs to meet those specifications.
--Read and review detailed multiple specification books issued by a customer.
--Work with engineers, sales and the Proposal group to decide on what equipment to propose.
--Correspond and interface with engineers overseas and vendors.
--Create customer drawings of the proposed equipment to be included into the customer proposal.

Requirements:
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum 5 years knowledge and experience with SolidWorks software or other 3D software a plus; Proficiency using AutoCad in generating detail drawings and schematics; Ability to produce complex technical design layouts and proposals; Experience with Subsea umbilicals or trees a benefit; Experience with Machined parts is a plus, and mechanical assemblies; Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written; Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum associates degree in drafting and design technology.
