Job Description:
Our client in Mobile, Alabama has an immediate opening for a Welding Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join an International comapny in the oil and gas industry. The position is a direct hire with benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
Some duties associated with the position include:
Maintenance/Equipment
~Initiates troubleshooting of welding process and equipment problems
~Ensures safe operating conditions of welding equipment
~Initiates work orders for new equipment and/or for repairs
~Ensures proper maintenance of welding equipment.
Safety
~Ensures all welding activities are in safe and efficient manner.
~Ensures the implementation of the plant Safe working procedures.
~Reports all safety related incidents to Production Manager.
Quality
~Ensures the welding activities will be done as per the project.
~Reports all deviations from the specified standards/ procedures.
Scheduling/Production
~Makes independent operational decisions.
~Works with project engineers in developing welding procedures.
~Implements or recommends process adjustments based on welder?s feedback, visual inspection, instrumentation data, and experience to improve welding process/ success rate.
~Schedules manpower and resources to meet project dead lines for all welding activities.
~Interprets AUTOCAD drawings related to welding.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 4 year technical BS degree in Welding/Production/Manufacturing Engineering
0-5 years experience in a welding engineering position (2+ years experience a plus)
Weld NDT experience
Weld procedure writing experience
Weld qualification experience
Welder qualification experience
Experience welding steel
Project calculations and documentation (SAP a plus)
